Rewarded for stewardship
over teaching the congregation to grow in spiritual maturity,
in 1999 Mt. Lebanon opened a new facility to house the increasing
membership growth. With the numbers continuing to increase,
in 2003 Mt. Lebanon broke ground to build the Signet Health
Conference Center, which will house a gymnasium, weight
center, additional classrooms and game rooms. Additional
wings are also being added to house the Christian Academy
and Administration.
Pastor Brown and his graceful wife of 14
years, Valerie K. Brown are proud parents of two beautiful
children, James and Kimberly. He received his Bachelor of
Science degree in Engineering from Norfolk State University.
He has prepared for the gospel and professional pastoral
ministry by attending the Samuel Proctor School Theology
at Virginia Union University. In 1991 he received a Masters
of Divinity degree and in 1998 a Doctorate of Ministry degree.
He is known widely as an anointed preacher
of the gospel and an effective teacher in practical instruction.
He is well recognized for his teachings on stewardship,
and the book Tithes, Offerings and Firstfruits, which he
co-authored with his wife Valerie. He is the co-founder
of Keys to the Kingdom, a ministry which he and his wife
Valerie have established; The Church Financial Management
& Leadership Institute, Kingdom Keepers a pastoral covering,
and scholarship programs. He currently serves as chairman
for the Board of Directors for Mt. Lebanon Community Development,
Inc. His servant attitude has built close relationships
with highly respected ministry and political leaders. He
has been under the spiritual covering of Bishop Eddie L.
Long, Senior Pastor of Newbirth Missionary Baptist Church,
Atlanta, GA for the past four years.
Pastor Brown is determined to fulfill the
call God has placed on his life through obedience to HIS
commands. For Deuteronomy 11:26 says, “Today I am
giving you the choice between a blessing and a curse! For
you will be blessed if you obey the commands of the Lord
your God that I am giving you today.”
