Vision Statement:
Our vision is
to provide a nurturing Christian environment, where the believer
can Embrace the Eternal God, Engage their Call from God, be Equipped
for Ministry, and Employ their Gifts in the Vineyard.
Mission Statement:
The mission of Mt. Lebanon
MBC, in accordance with the written Word of God, is to purify its
members (Ephesians 5:26-27). The Lord God purges through divine
chastening (John 15:2). As well, believers purge themselves (1
Corinthians 11:28-31). The local church must practice discipline
as well (Acts 5:1-11). Another mission of the church is to educate
its members (Ephesians 4:11-12). The church should have a vision
and desire to evangelize the world (Mark 16:15). The church has
been called by God to be a restraining and enlightening force in
the world (Matthew 5:13-16). It becomes, therefore, the mission
of the church to promote all the social, economic, political, and
educational welfares of the community as a living testimony to Christ.
Church
History
Mt. Lebanon Missionary
Baptist Church has stood for over ninety years. The history of Mt.
Lebanon is both educational and inspirational. In 1902 a group of
Christian believers sought permission from the officers of the Odd
Fellows of Bells Mill to hold an interdenominational Sunday School
on the first floor of their hall. Read
our full history.
Sowing
Each Sunday we give away the offering placed
on the communion table to someone our Pastor, through divine guidance
of the Holy Spirit, picks out of the pew in order to bless and enrich
their lives. Acts 2:44-47,4:32-37
Offering
There is no set time to receive the offering.
Giving is a matter of the heart and should be done as soon as we
enter the temple, and as often as God speaks to our hearts. We should
not have to be reminded to give to God. Matthew 2:10-11, 5:23&24
Order
of Worship
Here at “The Mount” we believe
that worship should be free of those things that may prevent intimate
encounters between the Lord and the Saints, therefore, worship includes
only praise and worship, giving, and preaching the word. These are
the three main components of biblical worship. Psalm 100:2-4, 95:2
