2003 Football Outlook:
The Gonzaga Eagles went 10-0, winning the WCAC and the City championships last season. Coach Kenny Lucas' squad will look to defend its championships facing a tough schedule against WCAC opponents. These include DeMatha, Good Counsel, O'Connell, Bishop McNamara, as well as challenging non-conference games against St. Albans and Georgetown Prep.
Players to Watch:
All-American WR/DB/KR Doug Dutch is one of the best all-around athletes in the country. Also watch for big things from senior QB John Reardon, junior WR Paul Johnson, junior RB Joe Taylor, and TE Charles Young on offense. Seniors Manuel Marshall, Luke Warring, Robert Garvis, and Justin Scurlock will hold down the offensive/ defensive lines.
Take Note:
The Eagles beat perennial league power DeMatha twice last season to win the WCAC championship.
